German economy August 2016: Seasonal slowdown or new trend?

August remained a relatively quiet month – especially in comparison to June and July. The developments of the previous months (and the season) only took a small toll on the current German economy. However, the outlook has deteriorated.

Against worldwide rather pessimistic expectations, the German IFO business climate index rose from  a stagnating 106.7 points in April to 107.7 points in May. Banken – Crisis? What Crisis?

Anfang April merkten die Blogger (die Main-Stream-Medien wieder einmal weniger) weltweit auf, denn ein Banken-Krisentreffen jagte das nächste! Eine mögliche Erklärung für die ungewöhnliche Hektik war zunächst die Kritik der Fed am „Testament“ von JP Morgan – also den Regelungen im Fall einer notwendigen Abwicklung.
