Morning Briefing – 22. Februar 2018 – Crash // Wachstum USA // Wachstum D

Morgen Schweiz

Guten Morgen,

Gestern Abend erreichte der Referenzzinssatz der zehnjährigen US-Staatsanleihen mit 2,95% einen neuen Höchststand. Auch, wenn der Zinssatz tagesaktuell sinkt, sollte einem das zu denken geben.  „Morning Briefing – 22. Februar 2018 – Crash // Wachstum USA // Wachstum D“ weiterlesen

The German Economy in January 2018 – no breathtaking…

Due to my annual skiing-holidays, I am a little late with my January monthly and thus had to watch in awe the stock exchanges crashing all over the world. Currently, the search is ongoing for the reasons of this crash. I will dwell deeper into this in the next month. Before, let’s look back into January – where the GroKo was still under construction and the German economy seemed to happily hum along:  „The German Economy in January 2018 – no breathtaking…“ weiterlesen

The German Economy in December 2017 – record ending to a record year!

As an awesome year drew where record chased record, Germans finally seemed to enjoyed themselves rather than going out on a shopping-spree. At least that is what the incoming figures about retail around Christmas tell us: Despite growing by a healthy three per cent, especially smaller retails seem to be not too happy about their sales figures (cf. here).  „The German Economy in December 2017 – record ending to a record year!“ weiterlesen

The German Economy in October 2017 – on the rise

It is getting quite boring to announce record after record in the German economy: From DAX to employment and from industrial output to ifo – record-highs everywhere. We Germans are not accustomed to such a lengthy period of record-growht. There are, however, not many pessimists left now who are willing to predict any sort of crisis. And I am currently at least not one of them. First, let’s look into the German economy with the help of several key indicators:  „The German Economy in October 2017 – on the rise“ weiterlesen

Morning Briefing – 26. September 2017 // Cyber-Crime // WP’s unter Feuer // IFO-Index fällt

Morning

Guten Morgen,

Also, der ganz normale Komödienstadel. Wir dürfen auf die Koalitionsverhandlungen gespannt sein… „Morning Briefing – 26. September 2017 // Cyber-Crime // WP’s unter Feuer // IFO-Index fällt“ weiterlesen

The German economy in July 2017 – Peak German Economy?

cropped-red-deer-woburn-abbey-01525290333-copyright-remains-with-his-grace-the-duke-of-bedford-and-the-trustees-of-the-bedford-estates_16-9-1.jpg

Although we will see in the following that not all but most indicators point to another record month of July (thereby topping June), there are at least some minor signs of trouble ahead – which still can be resolved easily, though. Hence, let’s take a deeper dive into the data:  „The German economy in July 2017 – Peak German Economy?“ weiterlesen

The German economy in June 2017 – can it get any better? Really?

cropped-red-deer-woburn-abbey-01525290333-copyright-remains-with-his-grace-the-duke-of-bedford-and-the-trustees-of-the-bedford-estates_16-9-1.jpg

With a view to the most recent figures and indices tracing the German economy this question should indeed be permitted. After May 2017 setting record after record (cf. here) the question is whether June topped it again: „The German economy in June 2017 – can it get any better? Really?“ weiterlesen

The German Economy in May 2017 – running really hot!

And indeed – at least in Germany – the train of economic growth kept rolling throughout May unabated (as hoped for at the end of March) – now reaching levels never seen before in ALL of the areas: „The German Economy in May 2017 – running really hot!“ weiterlesen

The German Economy in March 2017 – silver lining ahead

cropped-red-deer-woburn-abbey-01525290333-copyright-remains-with-his-grace-the-duke-of-bedford-and-the-trustees-of-the-bedford-estates_16-9-1.jpg

After all these questionmarks, doubts and armageddon-foresights (cf. for February here) now that: Hope! First, we all survived the 15th of March 2017 – despite the doomsday-sayers, neither the debt-ceiling nor the rate-hike in the US nor the Dutch elections could derail the „economic train“ which seems to get momentum even beyond Germany now. But, as always, I am getting ahead of myself. So, let’s see what’s behind the (German) curtain for this month: „The German Economy in March 2017 – silver lining ahead“ weiterlesen

The German economy in November 2016 – Trump ante ports

cropped-red-deer-woburn-abbey-01525290333-copyright-remains-with-his-grace-the-duke-of-bedford-and-the-trustees-of-the-bedford-estates_16-9-1.jpg

Until 8 November the month began rather „ordinary“ and did not continue the rebound from September. Obviously, everybody was waiting for the outcome of the US Presidential elections. And then the unthinkable (at least from the viewpoint of the MSM) happened – Trump was voted President. And then, again, the unthinkable happened: stocks did not only NOT crash but – especially in the US – started a rally rarely seen. „The German economy in November 2016 – Trump ante ports“ weiterlesen
